The room was cozy and comfortable, with a nice seating area to relax in after a long day. The private bathroom with a bath was a great convenience for unwinding and refreshing. The views of the mountains and garden from certain rooms added a touch of serenity during my stay.
Personally, I found the soundproofing in the double room a bit inadequate.

Handy location just off nature and Sri Lanka and Mountains, and the room was budget. The apartment was 10 minutes walk away from Sizzle Sports Pub. I loved the host. Got private bathroom with a bathtub: D

I recently stayed at a well-located place in Kandy that offered comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. The surrounding area was beautiful, with a close proximity to a jungle thicket. It was convenient to explore Kandy by foot, as it was close to the town and attractions like Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Tooth. The host was caring and made sure we had our freedom during our stay.
There was one situation that put a damper on our experience. One morning, as we were enjoying breakfast, the manager approached us and insisted on arranging a driver for our trip to Sigiriya.

The location of the hotel was convenient, being close to the main attractions and a short walk to the lake. the friendly owner provided a cheap tuk tuk service, which was helpful for getting around. I also enjoyed the jungle-like setting with monkeys hanging around the balcony, adding to the unique experience.
the owner's insistence on taking us to "very cheap" gem and cloth stores during the tuk tuk ride was annoying. the hotel also had a curfew, and the owner seemed cranky with guests who came home late.

I recently stayed at Green Woods for a few days and it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had. Mr. Ananda, the host, provided exceptional hospitality from check-in to checkout, making us feel like we were receiving personalized service. The English Breakfast they served was outstanding. The location, nestled halfway into the jungle, had an undeniable charm that pictures simply cannot capture. The staff was lovely and the facilities were clean. The well-equipped kitchen was a bonus for those who enjoy cooking. Despite being a bit of a walk from the city center, if you don't mind that, Green Woods is the best deal you'll find.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The view from the balconies was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning sights of both birds and monkeys. The cozy room had a clean attached bathroom, and the bed and linens were comfortable. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast that was included, and we had the option to request Cusum to cook lunch or dinner for us, which was always fresh and tasty. The location of the guest house was convenient, being just a short walk away from the main attractions.
One drawback was the unreliable wifi, which was quite frustrating. Additionally, the owner enforced an unexpected 10pm curfew, making us feel restricted during our romantic escape.

The rooms at Green Woods are just amazing! I stayed in a triple room and it was so cozy and comfortable. The seating area was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the stunning views of the mountains and garden. The private entrance added a touch of exclusivity, making me feel like I had my own little hideaway. And the tile/marble floor added a touch of elegance to the room. Loved every bit of it!
Personally, I found the soundproofing in the double room a bit lacking. But hey, that's just my opinion.

I loved the convenience of having free parking right at the hotel, and the on-site restaurant was a great option for a lazy dinner. The car hire service was also handy for exploring the area. if I had actually bothered to rent a car.
Who needs WiFi when you can just stare at the walls and have a riveting conversation with them? At least that's what the lack of WiFi made me feel like doing.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
